Department of Physics

Introduction

Department of Physics was established in June 1992 with only few students at B. Sc. Level. The department is one of the important dept. of basics science and is an integral part of the college. The department runs B.Sc. three year degree course as one of the optional subject at UG level. The dept. also carried out Electronics subject also. After June 2005 new Electronics department is formed.

Objectives of the Department

• To develop the subject interest among the student.
• To develop science attitude among the student.
• To develop the technical skill needed day today life and practical knowledge.
• Tomotivate the student for higher education.
• To prepare the student for competitive examination.

Course offered by the Department

B.Sc. F.Y., B. Sc S.Y. & B.Sc. T.Y. is the part of the course and all the subjects are compulsory to the students.

Strengths of the Departments

• Both teacher are completed Ph.D.
• Consistently good academic result of subject and strength of the student.
• Dr. S. S. Jadhav is Ph. D guide and in active in research.
• Dr. S. S Jadhav is Scopus potential author with h-index 9.

Weaknesses of the Department

• Uninterrupted Power Facility in not available in the department.
• Less laboratory space for continues increasing strength of student.
• Less space available for dark room.
• No separate department (along with electronics).
• No research laboratory and research center.

Opportunities

• Almost all students can apply for PG & higher education.
• Get a placement in almost any fields like industry and education.
• Awareness use of different instruments and machine in day to day life.

Challenges

1. More number of students in a class leading to high student teacher ratio
2. Majority of students taking admission are from rural and economically backward and tribal areas.
3. To create employability in the region

Future Plan

1. To promote research activities among the students.
2. To organize National conference in the department.
3. To start innovative courses in the dept.
4. Submit minor/major research projects.
