प्रस्तावना :

जिंतूर येथील ज्ञानोपासक महाविद्यालयाची स्थापना जुलै १९८३ ला झाली, याच वर्षी मराठी विभागही सुरु करण्यात आला. या विभागातून शिक्षण घेऊन गेलेले विद्यार्थी समाज, राज्य, आणि देशासाठी महत्त्वाचे काम करत आहेत. यात कवी, लेखक, समाज सेवक, पत्रकार, प्राध्यापक, शिक्षक आणि शासकीय अधिकाय्रांचा समावेश आहे. मराठी विभाग तर्फे विद्यार्थ्यांच्या वाङ्मयीन व एकूण उत्कर्ष साठी अनेक उपक्रम राबवले जात आहेत. वेगवेगळ्या कार्यक्रमाच्या निमित्याने आतापर्यंत प्रा . विश्वास वसेकर, डॉ. प्रल्हाद लुलेकर, ज्ञानेश वाकुडकर, पत्रकार उत्तम कांबळे, साहित्यिक विनय हर्डीकर, कवी केशव खटींग, व इतर मान्यवर या विभागात येऊन गेले आहेत. विभागाने संस्थे च्या ध्येयधोरणात सहभागी होऊन विद्यार्थंच्या वाङ्मयीन, सामाजिक उत्कर्षात नेहमी पुढाकार घेतला आहे. वरिष्ठ विभागात सध्या प्रोफ. डॉ. विलास पाटील व प्रोफ. डॉ. पंढरीनाथ धोंडगे; तर कनिष्ठ महाविद्यालयात प्रा. संतोष कदम, आणि प्रा . सुरेश पारवे कार्यरत आहेत.

Vision

1. Creating awareness among the students about golden opportunities of employment in Marathi language and literature
2. By creating fertile atmosphere for the smooth growth and development of cultural and literary development the department of Marathi will play a role of a perfect objective correlative.
3. To develop the creative ability of the inspiring students with a suitable atmosphere and proper discipline.
4. To maintain and enrich the Incredible tradition of language and literature of the said college.

Mission

1. To introduce to the bonafied students the changing nature of the Marathi language and dire need of its study
2. To inculcate and stimulate self reliance among the students of rural areas about regional dialects of Marathi language.
3. To provide constructive contribution to the society through the formation responsible, sensitive citizens, through the study of Marathi language and literature.
4. Stimulate to the study of Marathi language and literature by maintaing the incredible tradition of creative writers critics reader and scholars in Marathi language.

Aim of the Department

1. To quench the cultural trust and hunger of the young generation through the proper introduction of books to them who are hunted by internet and technology
2. To eradicate and create the passivity e among the students about the study of Marathi language and literature through the love and affection to the subject.
3. To stimulate the golden opportunities of employment in regional language Aaj like Marathi under the impact of globalization.

Course offered by the Department

B.A. F.Y., B.A. S. Y. & B. A. T.Y. Optional and BA, B.Com, B. Sc FY and SY Second Language is the part of the Programme. CBCS (Chose Based Credit System) Adopted as per the rules and Regulation farmed by university. There are some cores subject and elective and SEC (Skill Enhancement Course) is conducted for Sy and Ty as per the syllabus provided by the university.

• In 1991 , Dr V S Patil actively worked as Volunteer in Literacy movement at Jintur Taluka.
• He worked in social organisation on 'Joints Group ' at JINTUR.

• He guided to reasearch students in their Reasearch Work.
• He guided various students in Literary & Academic way.

Dr. P.N.Dhondge :-

• Tribals of Chatru Naik Tanda (Tq. Sonpeth, Dist. Parbhani) were provided electricity taking initiative in providing all possible help including some financial help by Dr. P.N.Dhondge
• In 2021, a poor farmer's two oxen died due to electric shock, taking initiative and persuasion, helped the poor farmer to get compensation of 40,000-00 Rs. by MSEB by Dr. P.N.Dhondge.
• Donated books to Yeshwantrao Chavan Sarvajanik Vachanalaya, Radi, Tq. Ambejogai, Dist. Beed by Dr. P.N.Dhondge.

Strengths of the Departments:

1. Major faculty is highly qualified (Ph.D.).
2. Dr. Vilas Patil is a well known poet and author of One-Act-Play in Marathi literature.
3. Dr Vilas Patil is a recognized P.G. Teacher, HOD and Research Supervisor for Ph.D. students.
4. Dr. Pandharinath Dhondge is a recognized P.G. Teacher and Research Supervisor for Ph.D. students.
5. Dr. Pandharinath Dhondge wrote two books on criticism on Saint literature in Marathi.

Weaknesses of the Department:

1. Lack of language laboratory.
2. Special ICT class-room not available for the department.
3. Departmental library is not available.

Opportunities

1. To develop the standard language in the rural / socially backward/ tribal students
